Stop Fighting Every Battle. Start Understanding Your Child.

Kids don’t always lie to deceive you. Sometimes, telling the truth doesn’t feel safe.

When effort feels risky, kids may give up early to protect themselves from failure.

You don’t regain influence by controlling more. Sometimes, connection works better than control.
Honestly it helps give me the guidance I sometimes need when working with a child with severe adhd and helps bring me the patience I’ve been working on. I do go back and read through parts over and over again when it pertains to what I need. And honestly it’s helping
It’s really good!! I really need something like this book, as I am a mother navigating through the obstacles of parenthood! It’s helping me see parenting from a different perspective, I can tell I’m going to take away a lot of info from this book. The section on meltdowns really resonated with me.
Book is heavily geared toward gentle parenting and talking your child through situations with soft wordings and empathy. A little repetitive in some chapters. Quick read with helpful tactics
This book takes an interesting approach to parenting by encouraging readers to look at their own responses and habits instead of automatically seeing a child’s behavior as the problem. The message is relatable and gives parents plenty to think about when it comes to communication, patience, and understanding their children. It would be a good read for parents who are interested in personal growth and finding healthier ways to handle everyday parenting challenges. The paperback format also makes it easy to pick up and read at your own pace.
Great little book to assist when you have a child that’s difficult to deal with. Helps you be a better parent.
This book has really made me stop and think. I found myself highlighting sections on how to encourage my daughter without over-praising her, how to handle her stalling on homework without turning it into a battle, and how to help her step away from screens without a meltdown. It’s the kind of book I keep coming back to.
